Über den Autor Anne Brontë

Anne Brontë (1820-1849) lebte gemeinsam mit ihren älteren Schwestern Charlotte und Emily weltabgeschieden im väterlichen Pfarrhaus in Yorkshire. 1847 veröffentlichten die drei Schwestern gleichzeitig jeweils ihren ersten Roman. Im Alter von nur 29 Jahren starb Anne Brontë an Tuberkulose.Charlotte Brontë (1816-1855) war neben Emily und Anne die Dritte im Bunde der literarisch hochbegabten Schwestern. Nach dem frühen Tod der Mutter übernahm sie die Fürsorge für die jüngeren Geschwister. Zwei Jahre unterrichtete sie an einem Brüsseler Internat, kehrte jedoch dann für den Rest ihres kurzen Lebens in die heimische englische Moorlandschaft zurück. In der Abgeschiedenheit des väterlichen Pfarrhauses widmete sie sich neben familiären Pflichten ganz dem Schreiben.Emily Jane Brontë (1818-1848) wuchs mit ihren ebenfalls literarisch hochbegabten Schwestern Charlotte und Anne sowie ihrem Bruder Branwell vollkommen abgeschieden im väterlichen Pfarrhaus in Yorkshire auf. 1845 wurden die Gedichte der Brontë-Schwestern unter Pseudonym gedruckt; 1847 veröffentlichten die drei jeweils ihren ersten Roman.
