Über den Autor John le Carré

John le Carré, 1931 geboren, studierte in Bern und Oxford. Er unterrichtete in Eton, bevor er während des Kalten Krieges für den britischen Geheimdienst arbeitete. Fast sechzig Jahre war dann das Schreiben sein Beruf. 2011 wurde er mit der Goethe-Medaille ausgezeichnet. Er lebte in London und Cornwall. Am 12. Dezember 2020 ist John le Carré verstorben. Peter Torberg, geboren 1958 in Dortmund, studierte in Münster und in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Zu den von ihm übersetzten Autoren gehören u.a. Paul Auster, William Golding, David Peace, Daniel Woodrell und Oscar Wilde.
