Jean-Paul Didierlaurent, 1962 in La Bresse/Elsass geboren, trat zunächst als Autor von Erzählungen hervor, die mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet wurden. 'Die Sehnsucht des Vorlesers' war sein Romandebüt, das weltweit Hunderttausende von Lesern verzaubert hat. Er starb am 05. Dezember 2021 in Straßburg.
