Brigitte Reimann, geboren 1933 in Burg bei Magdeburg, war seit ihrer ersten Buchveröffentlichung freie Autorin. 1960 zog sie nach Hoyerswerda, 1968 nach Neubrandenburg. Nach langer Krankheit starb sie 1973 in Berlin.Veröffentlichungen: Ankunft im Alltag (1961), Die Geschwister (1963), Das grüne Licht der Steppen. Tagebuch einer Sibirienreise (1965), Franziska Linkerhand (1974). Außerdem die Briefwechsel mit Christa Wolf, Sei gegrüßt und lebe.
