This is a first grounded theory research on career development in China, reflecting contemporary Chinese managers' career changes shaped by the transitioning nature of the society. Through in-depth interviews and analysis, the study derived a theory of managerial voluntary career transition centered on a core category of career authenticity. This research project has received the 2012 Academy of Human Resource Development Dissertation of the Year Award. The proposal of this research has received a second prize of Li Ning Dissertation Proposal Award from International Association of Chinese Management Research (IACMR) in 2010.

Über den Autor Yi Sun

Yi Sun is Lecturer in the College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University. Her research interests include screen industries, Chinese-language cinema, film genre, film authorship, and film historiography. She has published in journals such as Asian Cinema, Transnational Cinemas, Canadian Journal of Film Studies, Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, Modern Chinese Literature and Culture, and Adaptation. She has received the 2018 Peter Morris Prize presented by the Film Studies Association of Canada for the best essay published in Canadian Journal of Film Studies.
