This Handbook provides readers with the current cutting edge of multiphase flow technology. It reviews the rapid development of multiphase flow technology, demonstrates the latest development of the technology, and showcase the very latest applications. It provides readers with comprehensive updated reference information covering theory, modelling and numerical methods, design and measurement, and new applications in multiphase flow systems.
The Handbook consists of three parts or volumes:
1. Theory: describes the fundamentals including the concepts and definitions of multiphase flows. Classifications of multiphase flows. Basic understanding of different length scales involved - micro/nano, meso and macro. Treatment of such flows by different solution frameworks.
2. Modelling and Measurement: covers both classical and state-of the-art measurement and modelling approaches to resolve different classifications of multiphase flows.
3. Applications: highlights the very latest applications of measurement and modelling approaches in tackling different classification of multiphase flows in a variety of natural, biological and industrial systems and different length scales.

Über den Autor Guan Heng (Hrsg.) Yeoh

Guan Heng Yeoh obtained his PhD degree and First Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, UNSW; Principal Research Scientist and Leader of Thermal-Hydraulics at Australia Nuclear Science Technology Organisation; and an External Academic Adviser at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.He is the Founder and Editor of the Journal of Computational Multiphase Flows. He has also been the Lead Guest Editors of Modelling and Simulation in Engineering, Special Issues - Advances in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Its Applications, 2011 and 2012, and Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Special Issue - Multiphase Flow Systems with Suspended Particles, 2013. He has approximately 200 publications including 8 books, 11 book chapters, 90 journal articles and 85 conference papers with an H-index 19 and over 1200 citations. His research interests are computational fluid dynamics (CFD); numerical heat and mass transfer; turbulence modelling using Reynolds averaging and large eddy simulation; combustion, radiation heat transfer, soot formation and oxidation and solid pyrolysis in fire engineering; fundamental studies in multiphase flows: free surface, gas-particle, liquid-solid (blood flow, nanoparticles and magnetic particles) and gas-liquid (bubbly, slug/cap, churn-turbulent and sub cooled nucleate boiling flows); computational modelling of industrial systems of single-phase and multiphase flows. He has obtained significant prizes and awards: Brennan Medal for the best book publication, Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), UK, in 2009, ANSTO Award: recognition for excellence in literature publication in 2009 and NASA Award: novel and innovative research work in solidification for the manufacturing of electronic components in microgravity environment in 1992.
