Thomas S. Kuhn, geboren 1922 im Bundesstaat Ohio (USA), studierte Physik an der Harvard-Universität, belegte jedoch mehrere Kurse in Philosophie und Literatur. Später entschied er sich für eine Laufbahn als Historiker und Philosoph und widmete sich im besonderen der Wissenschaftsgeschichte. Thomas S. Kuhn verstarb 1996 in Cambridge im US-Bundesstaat Massachusetts.
